This is the youngest department in our heritage institution.It was setup in June 2014, and is only seven year old.It has student strength of 50 students per year studying B.Com. (Honours in Accounting and Finance) affiliated under University of Calcutta.

There are seven SACT (State Aided College Teacher) teachers in the department who are the following :

3. Prof. Poushali Bardhan
4. Prof. Shreya Basu
5. Prof. Dipanwita Mitra
6. Prof. Sreeparna Mukherjee
7. Pro. Sukanya Ghosh

There are also two guest lecturers: Prof. Amar Nath Das and Prof. Abantika Dev Ray. It is headed by the Administrator, Prof. Amitava Chatterjee who founded the department, under the able guidance of the, then Rector and Principal, Dr. John Abraham.

The department is performing well both in academics and co-curricular activities. In the very first batch, as many as 16 students obtained first class (Honours) and two students secured ranks among the first ten in the University of Calcutta. The average number of first classes are almost 15 every year.

The placement record of the Department is good with about 12 in TCS, 5 in ICICI prudential, 1 in Amazon, 1 in PWC, 1 in Ogilvy. 1 in Emami, 6 in Genpact and 2 in Indigo Airlines. The department is doing very well in sports activities, winning a number of medals even the state -level athletics meet.

Mr. Sayantan Das, one of the departments students with First Class Honours in the very first batch (2014-2017) has achieved 3 Grandmaster norms in International chess. The department regularly organizes Seminar and workshops such as the seminar conducted in 2015 and 2018 and various workshops conducted by BSE, ACCA, Institute of Company Secretaries, ICFAI Business School, and recently a webinar conducted by KC Global on USCPA Course. The proceedings of the 2015 Seminar have been published at a book launch organized in November 2017.Needless to say this book has an ISBN Number.
